Before visiting this exhibit, I’ll admit, I didn’t know who Zandra Rhodes was. I was looking for new fashion exhibits in London because I love to see the way different designers did/do their craft. It was so interesting to see her designs and to realise that her work has probably inspired many of the lifestyle wear that’s around today (being from the Caribbean and working at a lifestyle retailer, it’s been interesting to compare her work with the lifestyle brands we sell in-store!). Below are a few photos of pieces that I found really interesting.
This is the first look of a sustainable series that I was assigned to do for university for a “Sustainably Radical” assignment. Everything used to style my models were articles of clothing or fabric and objects that we already owned. My goal with these looks (6 looks in total, more to come) was to spend the least amount of money possible, be sustainable, and contribute less to the fast fashion market by not ordering clothes for this shoot. My concept was to portray how fast fashion effects the sea surrounding the island I come from, as people only think the results of fast fashion can only be felt where the production takes place. But the ocean is all connected, and the fibers and dyes spread all over the ocean, through the waves and beyond, and I wanted to focus on the emotion I have towards that situation.
Winter Wonderland 2019 wasn’t as action packed as 2018’s, but it was fun all the same. My 2 girlfriends and I went out during the week while it wasn’t too crowded, ate some sweets and rode the weakest and most sane rides possible. One of my friends brought her disposable camera and took some shots of us to sum up the evening. See what we got up to below haha.
Happy New Year! It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here, and I just came to say I’m back. I’ve noticed that I post consistently for a while, and then abandon you all for a little while due to lack of inspiration (if I’m honest). But excuses ASIDE, it’s a new year! I really want to start putting in the work to produce things I like on all my platforms, because I have a really good feeling that all that work will pay off! I’d like to post more skincare and travel content on my youtube channel (so please subscribe if you’re not already!) which is in the “Youtube” tab at the top of my website.
On this blog I want to post more thoughts, lifestyle, advice and fashion content so stay tuned for that if you’re interested !
Anyway, here are some photos from New Years Eve night (Dress & Earrings: Topshop and Purse: ASOS). Hopefully I will stock to my plan, and upload more things on here for you all.
Over the summer, I was apart of a photoshoot for an up and coming local skincare brand, created by a lovely friend of mine. The shoot was so dreamy and the photos came out so beautiful, that I wanted to share them on here, as I can’t post them all on instagram haha. So have a look through and enjoy.
On September 20th (yes I’m extremely late haha) I celebrated my 20th birthday, which was also my Golden Birthday! It was one of the most special birthdays I’ve ever had and I felt so grateful and loved, even though I’m 1000’s of miles away from the rest of my friends and family. Sadly this was also my first day of school, but I made the most of the day and still enjoyed it.
To start the day, I had breakfast at The Grand cafe in Green Park with my parents, and rushed to class after. After class, we went to Wildwood in Covent Garden, and to Milk Train for dessert (MY FAV). Throughout the day other little things happened that made me feel really special but I’ll spare you all the details. Needless to say, it was just a really good day.
Just a few snaps from my second trip to the British Museum x
The British Museum has the coolest ancient Egyptian collection I’ve ever seen at a museum. For those of you who don’t know, ancient Egyptian history has been a big interest of mine since I was a little kid. This is my second trip to the museum, so I decided to have a look at everything else they had to offer, outside of the Egyptian section. So here are a few snaps of what I saw.
