Milano is one of the most magical places I’ve ever been to (especially during the holiday season). For as long as I could remember, I’ve dreamed of going to Italy and eating my favorite foods, drinking wine, and shopping. Sadly I only had a weekend to do all of that, but it was one of the best weekends of my life. A friend of mine was living there for a few months, so I bought a plane ticket, planned my trip, and left London on Black Friday weekend.
Everything just seemed oddly familiar to me, like I’d visited before. It was exactly what I thought it would be like, yet nothing like what I thought at the same time. But I must say, the food was EXACTLY what I thought it would be like. Fresh, flavorful and to DIE for. Best pasta and bruschette I’ve ever had.
There was so much culture and history everywhere that I went, and I could just feel it there. Everything was so beautiful and it sometimes felt like I stepped back in time.
It’s definitely a place I want to visit again in the future, and hopefully you and I both will get the change to tour the rest of Italy! And of course, eat all the food.
here are my dream European destinations and why I want to go there
Spain: to see the pretty Spanish boys.. and architecture of course
Milan: to get an Italian shopping experience of course!
Portugal: to just see the beauty of it
Santorini: this is my beau and I’s dream destination together!
Venice: to travel by gondola while eating gelato
Ireland: to have a proper pint and to hear all of the Irish accents in one place haha
Scotland: just to see these beautiful castles in person
Amsterdam: to walk down the pretty streets and visit the moulin rouge
Cannes: to soak in the sun and go in the beautiful ocean
Norway: to see the northern lights of course!
One of the best experiences of my year so far
This year i attended the London Fashion Week Festival at The Strand in Holborn and it was such a crazy experience for me. As some of you know, I am a tall girl, and in heels I’m about 6’3. When I stepped off the bus and walked down to the location photographers swarmed around me assuming I was a model. That in itself was a crazy experience.
For my outfit, I styled everything around my faux leather snakeskin trench coat which was the focal point piece. Underneath, I wore a mesh, pink floral mock neck top and loose chino trousers cinched at the waist with a faux leather belt. I accessorized with a simple faux leather studded crossbody and specially ordered faux snakeskin heels that matched the trench perfectly.
The Virgil Abloh X Louis Vuitton pop up was such a refresher for fashion. Seeing a brand like Louis Vuitton, known for it’s classic style, flipped upside down and dipping it’s feet into the world of streetstyle was an experience. From an all white, clean detailed collection, to chained high-tops and fanny packs, Virgil did something that no one has ever seen before and he was the first person of color to do so which is a huge achievement. I hope you enjoyed the photos I snapped while I was there, and I will see you all in my next post.
