What’s New in my Wardrobe

Some new additions to my wardrobe 🙂 don’t forget to subscribe!

Piccadilly

Some quick snaps of my look from a day out in Piccadilly..

Piccadilly is one of my favorite areas in London. It’s home to beautiful designer and high street stores, pretty scenery, and my personal favorite secret spot, Build-a-bear (very rare in London). I love that you can walk down and casually shop, it’s a 10 minute walk to Oxford Circus, and it’s not half as packed with people (even on weekends!).

One of my favorite places to explore and find unique pieces in London is Spitalfields. If you don’t know Spitalfields, it’s a market in Liverpool Street that has different vendors selling smoothies, accessories, clothes and souvenirs to name a few. Definitely a place i recommend to check out on your next trip to London if you’ve never been.

DIANA

Last month I attended the Princess Diana Fashion Exhibit at Kensington Palace. Here’s an inside look .

In February I went to the Princess Diana at Kensington Palace and it one of the coolest exhibits I’ve been to. Not only is Diana an icon, but her fashion sense was so different and influenced so man people’s styles. She has such great tastes in designers and changed the game when it came to royal attire. My favorite piece, is the last photo. A Gianni Versace evening dress covered in embroidery and appliquĂ©s.

I’m Back!

Happy new year everyone! January has been a long month full of ups and downs, self reflection, new beginnings, starting overs, and a lot of goals (and the year just started!). This year I want to be my most authentic self and find out who that person really is. I will be documenting all of my most memorable experiences on this blog this year and I can’t wait to share it with you all, and to look back on it later.

See you soon

Louis Vuitton x Virgil Abloh Pop Up

The Virgil Abloh X Louis Vuitton pop up was such a refresher for fashion. Seeing a brand like Louis Vuitton, known for it’s classic style, flipped upside down and dipping it’s feet into the world of streetstyle was an experience. From an all white, clean detailed collection, to chained high-tops and fanny packs, Virgil did something that no one has ever seen before and he was the first person of color to do so which is a huge achievement. I hope you enjoyed the photos I snapped while I was there, and I will see you all in my next post.

Formal Floral

For the Miss Cayman Islands Universe pageant at the Westin hotel  I had fun dressing up in a flowy, long- sleeved sheer dress by Betsey Johnson (my childhood favorite). My shoes are from Payless (because why spend 100’s of dollars for cute heels?) and my clutch is from Tous. I accessorized with a diamond pendant of my island and Swarovski earrings.

Flora Leather

Long time no OOTD! One of my staple pieces in my wardrobe is a leather jacket. To me, they transform a simple outfit completely. All of my jackets are inexpensive, and although I would love to invest in a YSL one, the cheaper dupes from Zara and Forever 21 have been working just fine and still doing the job I want it to. This jacket is one of my favorites in my collection (from Forever 21 believe it or not!) because the sewn in flowers add such a statement. When I first saw it, it reminded me of the Gucci 2017 collections with the floral details so it definitely adds a more dressy and expensive touch.

How to Part with Old Clothes

If you’re anything like me, you’re really sentimental. With everything. Sadly, everything includes material things, and this is why it was and still is so hard for me to get rid of clothing. For example, a shirt I wore to my first concert might not fit me anymore and might be old and ratty but will I be willing to keep it? Of course.

It took me a while to realize that how sad this was. That I was clinging on to things I no longer needed or wanted, but kept them for the sake of a memory. So if you’re currently having the same problem that I had, here is a list of a few things I asked myself before I parted with old clothes.

  1. Do I still wear it?
  2. Will I ever wear it again?
  3. Why am I holding on to this?
  4. Does it even still fit me?
  5. Where am I going to put it?

If you answered “No” or “I don’t know” to these questions, simply get rid of it! There’s no reason to hoard, and so many new and fresh pieces are coming out every season that you can’t make space for because you are holding on to things that you have no use for anymore. Letting go of clothing and keeping only your favorite stuff is so refreshing and gives you so much space to play around with new fashion trends, ideas, etc.
