Before visiting this exhibit, I’ll admit, I didn’t know who Zandra Rhodes was. I was looking for new fashion exhibits in London because I love to see the way different designers did/do their craft. It was so interesting to see her designs and to realise that her work has probably inspired many of the lifestyle wear that’s around today (being from the Caribbean and working at a lifestyle retailer, it’s been interesting to compare her work with the lifestyle brands we sell in-store!). Below are a few photos of pieces that I found really interesting.
I recently stopped by the Alexander McQueen London flagship store to see the latest exhibition and there were so many glorious and one of a kind pieces that made me feel so inspired and excited!
I took photos of some of my favorite pieces that were on display and inserted them below for you to have a look, of course. I am in LOVE with the pops of pink and the stunning flower inspired shapes (I’m a big flower person if you didn’t know). My absolute favorites are the hot pink sleeved suit jacket and blue died floral inspired dress, and I found the jute (i think?) dress with the leather harness so unique.
A look into one of the coolest fashion exhibitions I’ve ever been to x
I visited the V&A a few weeks ago to have a look at the Mary Quant exhibit and the pieces were so amazing! Above are a few snaps of my favorite looks that I WISH were still available today. I love the quirkiness and modern vibe that all the pieces still have to this day, and it was so interesting to learn about her impact on fashion in the 70s, and now.
My favorite pieces from the Dior exhibit at the V&A
In March I attended the Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibit at the V&A museum. It was definitely one of the most amazing exhibits I’ve ever been to and I’m so glad I got to go. The exhibit featured garments made by all of the former creative directors, and the current creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri. Here are some of my favorite pieces from the exhibition!
